Warning : Lets start this tutorial with a warning. This post is about Nude Photography and does cover a topic that some may find offensive. At first I thought she was joking but she was quite serious. She wanted someone that she could trust and someone who she thought could take a decent shot. We set up a time for the shoot at my home and I set up a simple make shift home studio.
There are some strict guidelines you have to keep in mind throughout your photo shoot. But you can make nude photography a fun and creative experience for everyone involved. You can photograph your nude models from the shoulders up or take close-ups only. You can use dramatic light to cover up most of their body parts.
A good starting point is to try and think along the lines of an implied rather than full nude — a simple suggestion of nudity, rather than outright display, often creates the most powerful images. If you cannot find someone to pose, try freelance modelling sites such as Purpleport , where photographers and models trade services. Models who want shots for their portfolios are often willing to work for copies of the images, or a modest fee. Plan your poses, lighting and location before the shoot.
Remember me. From building rapport with the model to exploring different angles of view to encouraging the model to tap into their own creativity, there are a lot of things to be done to make the session a success. As a photographer and an artist, you need to have a game plan - and that plan should involve getting to know the model before the shoot.
